Nandini is my childhood buddy, and has always been my best friend. We are so close that we can share our deepest secrets with each other without thinking twice. I get kiddish in my behaviour with Nandini, because it is fun to be childlike with her and to recreate childhood memories.
How is it shooting with the team of the show Geet-Hui Sabse Parayi?
I have worked with Gurmeet Choudhry (Maan) and Samir Sharma (Dev) before, so it is great to work with them again. It’s great when you know your co-actors beforehand, as you are comfortable with them. I have even worked with the director Maan Singh for Miley Jab Hum Tum, so it’s great to be back with the same director, same production house, and same channel. In fact, I am really missing Mohit Sehgal, Sanaya Irani, and Arjun Bijlani. It would be more fun if they were in the show too.

Is there any memorable incident on the sets that you can share?
I have never worked with Drashti Dhami (Geet) before. On the second day of the shoot, I spotted her shooting on the next set. I said hi to her, but she did not realize that I am playing Ranvir in the show. After a few minutes, she realized it and suddenly came to say hi. By that time, I was already laughing away at some joke with Gurmeet. Now, we joke about her late reaction (laughs).

Had you seen the show before joining the cast? What do you think of it?
I used to watch the show for my friend Gurmeet. Both of us work out at the same gym, so we used to discuss the show there. In real life, Gurmeet is nothing like Maan. He is never serious, and never glares at anyone like he does in the show. I remember, during my introduction scene, when Nandini says, ‘Yeh mere jijaji hain!’, I just burst out laughing because I am not used to being so serious.

What are the reactions that you are receiving for your role?
I checked some websites on the internet to see the reactions that my character is receiving. Some articles about my entry had about 1500-plus comments. Most of the comments are positive, though many people have said that I should have entered as a cupid for Maan-Geet rather than Dev-Nandini. Most of the response has been pleasant, and I am happy to see that.
