New 'Hunger Games' Clip: Katniss running for her life

MTV continue to unleash another sneak peek from "The Hunger Games" as part of their treat before 2011 MTV Video Music Awards.Like the previous teaser revealed a day prior, this new one is also super short in length, and shows Katniss and no one else in the Arena.Having no bow and arrows, the brunette is seen taking a flight and running away from danger. What she is fleeing from will be revealed when a longer footage is presented by Jennifer Lawrence, who plays the heroine in the movie, during the awards show on August 28. Adapted from Suzanne Collins  best-selling novel of the same name, the film is set in the apocalyptic of America which is divided into 12 districts
controlled by a tyrant government. It follows Katniss as she volunteers to take her little sister s place in a fight-to-the-death annual event called the Hunger Games.
Beside playing the leading lady, Jennifer will also lend her voice to the movie s soundtrack. She will sing "Rue s Lullaby", a tear-jerking tune she sings to her dying friend in the Arena. "It was beautiful," composer T-Bone Burnett said. "She did great. She s singing great. Killer actor too."
The film is scheduled to grace U.S. theaters on March 23, 2012. Starring Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson as Katniss  suitors, it is reportedly planned as a trilogy just like the book series. Although the first movie is still far away from hitting theaters, its follow-up titled "Catching Fire" has already got an official release date. The sequel is set for 2013 Thanksgiving weekend on November 22.

The weather system was expected to continue dumping rain over parts of Florida and Georgia. Tropical Storm Beryl made landfall early Monday in northeast Florida, bringing drenching rains and driving winds to the southeastern U.S. coast, forecasters said. The National Hurricane Center in Miami reported that Beryl made landfall over Duval and northern St. John s counties, with near-hurricane-strength winds of 70 mph (113 kph). "There are strong rain bands that are rotating around the center of the storm..." forecaster Al Sandrik said in an audio statement on the NHC website. The weather system was expected to continue dumping rain over parts of Florida and Georgia on Monday. It was expected to weaken as it moves inland and become a tropical depression by Monday night. Tropical storm warnings were in effect for the entire Georgia coastline, as well as parts of Florida and South Carolina. Florida Gov. Don't count on Russia to force out Assad: US senator

"This administration has a feckless foreign policy which abandons American leadership," McCain said. The U.S. can t count on Russia a major arms supplier to Syria to force President Bashar Assad from power, a U.S. senator said Sunday, blaming President Barack Obama for embracing a "feckless" foreign policy and punting tough decisions until after the November election. It was a particularly sharp rebuke for Sen. John McCain, who as a longtime critic of Obama s foreign policy hasn t pulled many punches. As the top Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee, McCain s viewpoint on complex world events often finds its way into Republican election-year talking points. "This administration has a feckless foreign policy which abandons American leadership," McCain told "Fox News Sunday." "What the conclusion you can draw is that this president wants to kick the can down the road on all of these issues until after the election ... it s really...
