I am a Casanova: Ashmit Patel

But that doesn't mean I am disrespectful towards women, says the actor.Ashmit Patel - with his strut and Cheshire Cat smile - has been up to a lot lately. The actor is known for his appearances not just on the big screen but also on the small screen, for which he has been labelled a Casanova. "Yes, I am a Casanova," says Ashmit, adding, "But if you look up the dictionary, nowhere does it say that a Casanova is disrespectful to women." Ashmit most recently made the news for his stint on the reality show Bigg Boss, in which he played confidant to a lot of his female inmates. "The girls felt protected with me in the house and I can t help that," says the actor. Ashmit reveals that his
relationship with Pamela Anderson is not just personal, but also has a business angle to it. "I m going to be promoting Pamela s venture, Waves for Waters, which plans to seek filtered drinking water for the deprived. I will be in charge of the business in India, while Veena Malik will be doing the same in Pakistan." When probed about his relationship with his Bigg Boss inmate and Pakistani actor Veena, he says, "She s someone who is very special, we are planning on working in a film together soon."

All the rumours surrounding Ashmit - especially those about his reported marriage to Veena - have taken a toll on him, but he says he s a fighter.

"When people try to push you over, you just have to get up again. I am here for the long run and even if you keep knocking me down I will fight," he says.
Apart from one Bengali and one Hindi film up his sleeve, Ashmit is also conceptualizing a fiction show that is based on Bollywood. "The concept is supposed to be different from any other Indian daily soap," he says.

Will he act in daily soaps now that he is a known face on TV? He is quick to reply that he is "not the saas-bahu type". But when asked about whether he will take his film career down south, he says he would definitely want to be a part of Sandalwood. "Most Bollywood movies are remakes of the movies down south, so why not be a part of the original?" he signs off.

Don't count on Russia to force out Assad: US senator

"This administration has a feckless foreign policy which abandons American leadership," McCain said. The U.S. can t count on Russia a major arms supplier to Syria to force President Bashar Assad from power, a U.S. senator said Sunday, blaming President Barack Obama for embracing a "feckless" foreign policy and punting tough decisions until after the November election. It was a particularly sharp rebuke for Sen. John McCain, who as a longtime critic of Obama s foreign policy hasn t pulled many punches. As the top Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee, McCain s viewpoint on complex world events often finds its way into Republican election-year talking points. "This administration has a feckless foreign policy which abandons American leadership," McCain told "Fox News Sunday." "What the conclusion you can draw is that this president wants to kick the can down the road on all of these issues until after the election ... it s really...
